Cookies and storage

PaintBraille currently uses only the cookies and storage necessary to provide the service, protect it and remember some preferences.
Technical cookies

Information stored by the editor
PaintBraille also saves certain information directly in your browser.
- Appearance preference: to remember if you prefer light or dark mode.
- Work recovery: to help prevent you from losing a drawing if the tab closes or the browser fails.
Recovery content remains on your device and is not used for telemetry.
If you clear your browser data, you may lose work that you have not saved or exported.
Telemetry
During the pilot, first-party, aggregated product telemetry is active.
While you use the editor, the browser keeps only a predefined summary in memory, covering features used and certain counters for inputs, outputs, results and recovery. At the end of the session, it sends this summary to PaintBraille so it can be added to aggregate counters. It does not create an analytics cookie, a persistent identifier, or analytics storage in localStorage, sessionStorage or IndexedDB.
PaintBraille does not use analytics cookies, whether from our own systems or specialist service providers, to identify you between sessions.
The pilot does not use an external analytics provider. The measurement data does not contain drawings, text, images, files or filenames, and technical cookies are not reused to build a cross-session analytics history.
Automatic unexpected exception reports remain disabled for pilot participants and are reserved for the internal test account.
Technical session and CSRF cookies are still necessary to authenticate and protect the first-party telemetry request; they do not function as analytical identifiers.
If in the future we incorporate a measurement technology that requires consent, we will ask you for it before activating it and we will update this page.

Sign in with Google
If you choose Sign in with Google, you'll be redirected temporarily to Google to identify yourself and then returned to PaintBraille.
If you use email and password, Google is not involved in your sign-in.
How to clear data stored in your browser
You can delete cookies and local storage from your browser's privacy settings. Remember that doing so can also delete a local recovery that you have not yet saved or exported.
